I have finally managed to get the code to a state I’m happy with, allowing me to fully focus on creating new mini-games. Not much has changed on the surface in this version; it served primarily as preparation for future expansions.
What’s new:
- Every command used is now logged to the database. These records will be used in the future to display the most frequently used commands in the statistics.
- Console outputs are also logged to the database, making it easier for me to debug code errors.
What has changed:
Tic-Tac-Toein 4x4 and 5x5 modes now requires connecting 4 squares to win instead of 3.- The
/infocommand color has been changed from blue to turquoise. - Improved the appearance of warning messages (e.g., when trying to play another player’s game or playing two consecutive rounds of Tic-Tac-Toe).
What has been fixed:
Tic-Tac-Toe: Playing against oneself is now disabled.Tic-Tac-Toe: The bot now randomly selects one of the best possible moves (as opposed to picking the first best move found, as in the previous version).Wordle: Word hiding in the daily challenge.Trivia: Time limit increased to 1 minute.Trivia: Reduced the number of API requests by implementing question caching.Trivia: Long answers are now truncated to fit the maximum allowed button label length.
I have also made the entire source code publicly available on GitHub.
