After an incredible three and a half years, StrachyBot is back—this time much better, more reliable, and, above all, more fun. If you have any ideas for additions or tweaks, don’t hesitate to contact me. 😉
What’s changed:
- Rewrote about 90% of the code and adjusted the structure for better stability and easier development of new mini-games
- Active games are now saved to a database instead of a JSON file to prevent issues with simultaneous file editing
- The database is automatically backed up daily
- New
/infocommand displaying basic bot information and changes since the last version - Unified look for all icons and a new logo
- Seasonal emojis for multiplayer mini-games (currently applies only to Tic-Tac-Toe)
- All mini-games now have time limits; the timer automatically extends with every interaction (e.g., button press)
Wordle 2.0
/wordle_playand/wordle_guesscommands merged into a single/wordlecommand- Cleaner UI displaying used words and featuring new buttons: Enter Word, Random Word, and Give Up
- Daily Challenge – a random word is selected daily (same for everyone); guesses and used letters are hidden so multiple players can play simultaneously without spoilers
Tic-Tac-Toe 2.0
- Play against Bot (Auto-play) – when playing against any bot (e.g., @StrachyBot), the best possible move is automatically selected for the bot
- Clearer display of game status and whose turn it is
Quiz (Trivia)
- New trivia game with questions drawn from 25 different categories (e.g., geography, history, general knowledge, sports, movies, etc.) and 3 difficulty levels (easy, medium, hard)
- This game replaced the old
Quote Guessmini-game, which involved guessing quotes from anime.
